Okay, so here’s the last edition of our special look inside the myths of Botox. We’ll go into the final 2 myths about Botox and hopefully by now you have a better understanding about the procedure and what it entails. I can only hope that we have given you enough information to make an informed decision about whether or not to have it done. We encourage you to call our offices for further information if you still have questions OR if you’re ready to make an appointment, feel free to do that too!

So here they are…

Myth #9
Botox, once administered, spreads throughout the body into other areas far from the injection site.

This is widely untrue. Botox is a specifically localized injection administered to a single area and only affects that single area. It’s impossible for Botox to enter other areas of your body.

Myth #10
Well, the “skin tightening creams” are just as good as Botox, so why bother?

Many people argue the fact that there are plenty of effective creams that do just the same thing. There isn’t enough well-founded studies to support their claims, and the FDA doesn’t require proof from cosmetic companies for their claims. Whereas Botox, had to have proven clinical studies that prove the effects of their claims. It’s basically guaranteed and supported by the FDA.
